Plan For Your Back To School Shopping
Plan For Your Back To School Shopping

Going crazy just thinking about your back to school shopping? This article has plenty of tips to help you and your kids through the chaos of school shopping.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Kids
  • Store ads
  • Pen
  • Paper
  1. Step 1

Sit down and make a list of what each child will need for school. I recommend first writing down what you know they need and then ask them what else they want. Try to do this a month to 2 weeks before you want to do your shopping. That will allow time for changes to your lists.

  2. Step 2

This list should include clothes, shoes, paper, pens, crayons/markers for younger kids, backpack, binders, ruler, folders, books and anything in particular you and your child(children) deem necessary.

  3. Step 3

Now browse local store ads and pay attention to TV advertisements for sales. This will allow you to plan when and where your items can be purchased for the most reasonable price. You won't have to run around at the last minute wondering which stores have what you need and paying higher prices.

  4. Step 4

When your child(children) are shopping for clothes make sure they sit, stand, stretch and even jump with the clothes on. The jeans may look great when he or she is standing but if they can't sit comfortably in them, they're just a waste of money. Try not to rush this part of the shopping. Having enough time to make sure everything fits and will be worn more than once is extremely important

  5. Step 5

Do your school shopping as soon as possible. Shopping at the last minute leads to frustration and all to often not being able to find your desired items.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make your lists in advance
  • Scout out sales before hand
  • Compromise with children on items when possible
  • Try to have fun and not stress
  • Don't wait until the last minute
  • Make sure all clothes fit properly and comfortably
  • Remember you don't have to spend a fortune buying all of the big brand names
