Visit their site (see Resources). The big advantage Alpine Bank offers is that it is a local bank which has reached out through the Internet and offered their services to millions of people across the globe.

Click on their "personal banking" tab. At this point, you'll be brought to a page which outlines the services they offer to the individual. Scroll through them and make sure they fit your needs and that Alpine bank is offering you a competitive deal on their checking account which will be linked to your Alpine Visa credit card.

Select "free online banking" which is highlighted on the site. You'll be then brought to a page which explains the terms of their online banking followed by a prompt which enables you to "enroll now." After selecting "enroll now," you'll be brought to the application page.

Fill out the application for online banking. All of the usual questions are asked on this page. Name, address, social security number and more. You'll also create a user name and password so that you can access the site 24 hours a day. Upon completion of the application, you'll be asked to fund the account. You can do this by wire transfer or mailing a check to the bank for deposit.

Receive your Alpine Bank Credit Card in the mail and shop until you drop. Alpine bank does offer overdraft protection, but be warned that fees will be assessed if you do spend more than is in your checking account.
