Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Create business cards and flyers to distribute at local veterinarians' offices, pet supply stores and even door-to-door. Provide as much information as possible about rates and reservation times for specific services and a phone number and email address for further questions. (See Resources)
Step2
Print custom items like computer mousepads, refrigerator magnets and small calendars with your company logo and phone number. Hand the items out to customers as small "thank you" gifts that they can also display as reminders to make additional appointments.
Step3
Give customers a coupon for a free or discounted taxi trip if they refer another client who books a service for their pet. Positive word of mouth will encourage repeat business.
Step4
Ensure your drivers and dispatchers are as courteous as possible when booking appointments and picking up and delivering the animals. This will not only encourage more business, but may also lead customers to recommend your taxi service to their friend and family members who have beloved pets.
Step5
Establish a website or blog to advertise online. Include information like your services and price per mile, hours and days of operation and contact numbers. Also use the site to discuss future plans for the company, provide coupon codes and even display photos of satisfied pet customers if their human counterparts sign a photo release.
