How to Make Bloodshot Eyeballs for Halloween

Make a big tray of bloodshot eyeballs, and they'll be the hit of your next Halloween party. They may look comic-book gruesome, but there's nothing frightening about the taste. Bloodshot eyeballs are actually delicious peanut butter and white chocolate candies.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Baking sheet
  • Waxed paper
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tbsp. softened butter
  • Electric mixer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 6 oz. candy coating, white chocolate
  • Small microwaveable bowl
  • 1 bag of plain M&Ms candy
  • 1 tube of red decorator frosting
  1. Step 1

    Cover a baking sheet with a large piece of waxed paper and set it aside.

  2. Step 2

    Beat 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter with 3 tbsp. of softened butter until they are light and creamy. Continue beating the mixture as you add 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1 tsp. of pure vanilla extract. The mixture should be smooth and free of lumps.

  3. Step 3

    Roll eyeball-size balls of the mixture and put them on the covered baking sheet. Put the baking sheet in the freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Place the white chocolate candy coating in a small microwaveable bowl for a few seconds, just long enough for the candy to melt.

  5. Step 5

    Dip the eyeballs lightly in the melted white chocolate, and place a plain M&M in the center of each one. Put the eyeballs back on the baking sheet and put them in the refrigerator until they're firm.

  6. Step 6

    Use a tube of red decorator frosting to make squiggly veins.

  7. Step 7

    Store the eyeballs in an airtight container and put them in the refrigerator.
