How to Make Apricot and Lemon Lip Balm
Apricot and lemon lip balm smells terrific, and it can protect your lips from damaging heat, wind and cold. This soothing and moisturizing balm for chapped lips is easy to make at home with utensils you probably own already. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 tsp. beeswax
- Heatproof glass measuring cup
- Small saucepan
- 1 tsp. apricot oil
- 1 tsp. calendula essential oil
- 3 drops lemon essential oil
- 2 drops tangerine essential oil
- 1-oz. glass lip balm jar with lid

Put 1 tsp. of beeswax in a heatproof glass measuring cup and set it in a small saucepan full of boiling water. Warm the beeswax just until it melts.

Stir in 1 tsp. of apricot oil and 1 tsp. of calendula essential oil and mix well, until the apricot oil and calendula oil are completely blended with the beeswax

Remove the glass measuring cup from the heat and continue to stir occasionally until the mixture cools.

Add 3 drops of lemon essential oil and 2 drops of orange essential oil to the cooled mixture.

Pour the apricot and lemon lip balm into a 1-oz. glass lip gloss jar, and attach the lid securely.

Tips & Warnings
Add a drop of red food coloring to your lip balm for a touch of color.
Supervise your children when they heat the oils.
