How to Make Citrus Aftershave

Make a bottle of citrus aftershave, and you'll discover that it's a welcome change from the powerful scents and strong chemicals in commercial aftershave. Citrus aftershave acts as a gentle astringent and closes your pores. Splash some on immediately after shaving, and your skin will feel toned and refreshed.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • 5 tbsp. witch hazel
  • 8 tbsp. white apple cider vinegar
  • 1 airtight container
  • 7 tbsp. orange flower water
  • 20 drops bergamot essential oil
  • 14 drops lemon essential oil
  • 6 drops tangerine essential oil
  • 1 tsp. vitamin E oil
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
Step1
Put 5 tbsp. of witch hazel and 8 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar in an airtight container.
Step2
Add 7 tbsp. of orange flower water, 18 drops of bergamot essential oil, 14 drops of lemon essential oil, 6 drops of tangerine essential oil, 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon and 1 tsp. of vitamin E oil.
Step3
Attach the lid tightly and shake the citrus aftershave until the oils are completely mixed with the witch hazel and apple cider vinegar.
Step4
Put the citrus aftershave aside for 1 week, shaking the jar daily.
Step5
Splash the citrus aftershave on the face as you like.

  • If you can't find orange water, substitute distilled water with 4 or 5 drops or orange or lime essential oil.
