How to Start a Bulk Candy Delivery Service

At some point in our childhood, most of us consider a career running a candy shop. The idea might not be that infeasible. However, instead of a stationary candy shop, there is the opportunity to make a living through a bulk candy delivery service.

Instructions

    • 1

Find potential clients before you do anything else. The success of your mobile candy shop depends on being able to draw in sufficient business. Do some market research to see what candy retailers, fairs, carnivals, fundraisers etc. are in your area.

    • 2

Buy a van or other delivery vehicle that can handle fairly large loads. Because candy does not need refrigeration or any other special considerations, you want to be able to pack your van as full as possible. This prevents wasting time and gas on unnecessary trips.

    • 3

Get a business license for your county, as well as a health department certification for your delivery vehicle.

    • 4

Check with your insurance company to see if your current automotive insurance covers your delivery vehicle. If not, you need to purchase additional coverage. If you are the only driver, this isn't a problem. If you hire additional drivers, you need a copy of their driving history report to make sure they are covered.

    • 5

Solicit clients through advertising, direct sales pitches and word of mouth. If you come across as personable, their is a good chance that a face to face meeting will generate some sales conversions for you.

    • 6

Incorporate fuel costs and vehicle wear into your prices, but try to remain competitive.
