How to Finish Unfinished Doll Furniture
Finish your doll furniture much the same way you'd finish a full-sized piece of furniture. Select painting products that are child friendly, since doll furnishings will undergo a fair degree of wear and tear. Decorate the furniture to match the doll or your home's decor.

1
Sand all the edges of your doll furniture using fine grit sand paper. Wipe it clean with a tack cloth to prevent imperfections in the finish.
-
2
Seal wood doll furniture before you paint it with a quality primer. Some types of wood will soak up paint and require multiple coats. Sealing the wood with a primer saves you time and money.

-
3
Paint the doll furniture a solid color using a small paint brush or a foam brush. Allow the furniture to dry thoroughly before you add any embellishments, like stripes or other details.
-
4
Dip the eraser end of a pencil into a small amount of paint, then dab it onto your doll furniture to create perfectly-sized polka dots.
-
5
Use thin painters tape to create crisp lines when painting stripes or other designs on your doll furniture.
-
6
Protect your newly-finished doll furniture by covering it with a coat of polyurethane.
-
7
Make cushions for a doll chair or bench. Place a layer of quilting batting and a layer of fabric over the seat. Fold the edges over, then use a craft glue or a staple gun to secure the fabric to the underside of the chair. Trim away the excess materials.
