How to Assemble a 3-D Puzzle

You can assemble a 3-D puzzle in various ways depending upon how the puzzle is constructed and what type of puzzle it is. There are all kinds of 3-D puzzles available such as, jigsaw 3-D puzzles, wooden 3-D puzzles, 3-D puzzles with plastic pieces and various others. The following steps will show you how to assemble the common jigsaw 3-D puzzle.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Remove the waste pieces, which are the pieces with the red dots. These are not to be used in the puzzle but you should put them all a small plastic bag and not throw them away.

  2. Step 2

    Lay out all your puzzle pieces so you can get a clearer picture of what you are trying to accomplish. Organize them by shape according to straight edges, curved edges, rounded cuts or square cuts.

  3. Step 3

    Sort out the pieces by color and pattern and separate them.

  4. Step 4

    Begin putting together your pieces by section. Lay the sections down flat on the floor as you assemble them. Make sure that the section and pieces you are working on, and with, completely match and fit before moving on in the project.

  5. Step 5

    Assemble the base and lay it down where you want to put together your puzzle.

  6. Step 6

    Attach each section to the base to create the 3-dimensional puzzle.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your 3-D puzzle away from heat from the sun or radiators, which could warp and damage the puzzle.
  • If you have never put together a 3-D puzzle before, start off with a simple puzzle. Do not start off with a puzzle with hundreds of complex pieces or you will just end up frustrating yourself.
