Getting and staying fit is vital for good health be you young or old. Part of getting and staying fit is finding time to work out and keep your body flexible and strong. The best place to keep fit is in your local gym. It is close and keeps some social ties to your community. Let's look at how you can stay fit in the gym.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the gym. That is the start of general fitness. The first achievement is to be convinced that you need to work at the task of staying fit. The first and foremost rule to remember is not to overdo it. You can't and shouldn't start in a sprint but at a walk. If you begin too aggressively, you have a good likelihood of hurting yourself and not come back because of the bad experience.

  2. Step 2

Get on a treadmill to begin working on your aerobic health. One essential part of physical fitness is to make sure you take care of your heart and lungs. Start walking at a moderate pace for about 5 minutes to get your heart pumping and to get you breathing deep with your lungs.

  3. Step 3

Move on to some basic stretching of your body. Stretch out all the basic muscle groups of your body. Keeping them stretched will help to keep your body flexible and able to move around as you did in your youth.

  4. Step 4

Shift down to the basic core exercise equipment. Weight lifting that strengthens your core or main body will keep the whole body in shape. The back, abdomen and chest all enhance other systems of your body. You don't need to lift to exhaustion but to a moderate level of tired. Working out the muscles will tone them and keep you mobile.

  5. Step 5

Finish your work out with your cardiovascular system workout. If you do all your cardio work when you first arrive, you will have no energy stores to help you make it through the rest of your workout. None of the things listed here should excessively tire you out but you will feel vitalized when you have been at it a week or so. The body does take time to adjust to the changes that you are making it go through. Start your ending cardio at the same pace as your beginning warm up and walk for 15 minutes. As you get more accustomed to it, you can increase the speed at which you walk. Bring it up to a very fast walk and then you can increase the time you walk until you are walking for about 30 minutes each visit.
