Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Choose old fashioned wooden clothespins which have a rounded top and split center. While you can probably make clothespin friends form the hinge type pins as well, the rounded top and split bottom of these old fashioned pins work best for these little dolls.
-
Step 2
Use markers to draw a face on the rounded top of your clothespins. Make sure that your clothespin is centered so that the split end becomes the legs before you draw on the face. If you like you can use tiny wiggle eyes, small puffs for a nose or add tinted glitter paints for the lips or bright rosy cheeks.
-
Step 3
Select fabric to create the body of your friend. Use lace and/or silk for a fairy, fake fur for a clothespin pet or even pieces of felt for a clothespin Santa. Use your imagination to cut and create your friend's outfit. Attach the fabric to the clothespin with hot glue and then cover the seam with a piece of ribbon.
-
Step 4
Decorate your friend's head. Use several pieces of yarn or even fake fur for hair, make a pipe cleaner halo, cut felt ears for animal clothespin friends or even draw on the final details with markers.
-
Step 5
Make wings for an angel or a fairy by cutting off two petals from a fake flower and gluing them onto the doll's back. Decorate the wings with glitter or sequins.
-
Step 6
Add a magnet to the back of your clothespin friend with hot glue, tie fishing wire around the neck and hang or simply play with them as they are.
