It can be such a pain when steam from the shower or anything else causes your mirror to fog up to where it can't be used. You can wipe off the fog, but it seems to always come back. Instead, here's how to prevent your mirror from fogging up with steam in the first place.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Glass cleaner
  • Lint-free cloths
  • Hair conditioner
  1. Step 1

Clean the mirror glass first with a cleaner made specifically for glass or windows. It's important to start with no streaks so that you do not have additional problems seeing and so that your treatments take to the mirror better.

  2. Step 2

Get a clean cloth that does not have and won't cause lint or particles to stick to the mirror. This prevents blurring when the steam hits the window.

  3. Step 3

Pour about a dime size amount of hair conditioner to a new lint-free cloth. Apply the conditioner to the mirror using the cloth.

  4. Step 4

Work on a small portion of the mirror at a time applying the conditioner one dollop at a time, and then removing it with another clean cloth until the entire mirror has been covered. Use broad strokes to keep the mirror streak-free through the steam.

  5. Step 5

Perform this process again once a month. This continues the fog-free effect.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also try these steps with tooth paste, WD40 or shampoo; however you may be left with slightly blurred mirrors.
  • Don't apply too much conditioner or your mirror will cloud.
