2. Look at pictures before heading to your salon on the day of the big event. It's a good idea to have more then one idea to choose from. You're hairstylist is going to be your best friend and if they are experienced they will be honest and tell you if they think you'll be better off with one updo over another.

3. Take hair accessories with you to your salon appointment. A lot of celebrity updos involve beautiful rhinestone clips or other unique adornments so be sure to take these along to achieve the look you're after.

4. Consider hair extensions to achieve the look you want especially if you have shorter hair but love a certain celebrity look.
