FrameMaker anchored frames allow you to place graphics at specific points in your text. Once you have created a frame, you can edit it to adjust the frame's location, alignment and size.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Select the anchored frame that you want to edit. If you want to change the frame size and the alignment or location, go to Step 3. If you only want change the frame size, continue with the next step.
Step2
Drag the handles on the frame to resize it. If this is all you want to do to the frame, you are finished. If you want to edit the alignment or location, continue on to the next step.
Step3
Go to the Special menu and select "Anchored Frame." The Anchored Frame dialog box appears.
Step4
Relocate the frame with the Anchoring Position drop-down list. You can change where the frame appears in relation to the text in the text column, at the insertion point, below the current line or at the top or bottom of the text column.
Step5
Realign the frame with the Alignment drop-down list. You can set the frame to be flush right, flush left or center, or to always be on the side closest to or farthest from the binding edge.
Step6
Determine if you want the text to accompany the frame when the frame moves to the next page because of space. If it is ok for the graphic to move to the next page ahead of the text, select the "Floating" option.
Step7
Enter a new size for the frame. You can edit the frame height and width.
Step8
Click "Edit Frame." The frame changes to the new alignment, location and size

Tips & Warnings

  • The Cropped option on the Anchored Frame dialog box shows you that the frame was automatically created by importing a graphic or object. You cannot create a cropped frame. Setting this option manually does not affect the anchored frame.
