Step 1
Step out of your opponent's way as he advances towards you, timing your step so you move to his side when he's about arm's length away from you. Stepping out of his way is the most important element of the under arm throw technique, so practice this before you move to the throw.

Step 2
Grasp the top of her wrist furthest from you with your hand that's furthest from her. For example, if you step to your opponent's left as she advances, you'll grab her right wrist with your right hand. Place your other hand under her arm, as close to the shoulder as possible.

Step 3
Straighten his arm by pushing down with your hand holding his wrist and pushing up with your hand holding her upper arm. In addition to straightening his arm and preparing for the throw, you'll get more leverage.

Throw your opponent by holding her arm steady and turning your body towards the arm you hold. Keep turning towards her arm until she begins to fall to the ground.

Support your opponent's weight as he falls to avoid injury. However, let the hand under his arm come away during the throw so you're not pulled to the ground.

Practice the aikido under arm throw in slow motion before taking it up to speed. This allows you to get the basic form down before you try to implement the throw.
