How to Make Holiday Bath Salts
Holiday bath salts are easy to make and will be welcome gifts for everyone on your gift list. Things You'll Need
- 8 cups epsom salts
- 3 cups sea salt
- 1/4 tsp. glycerin
- 6 to 8 drops of peppermint essential oil
- 6 to 8 drops of red or green food coloring
- 6 (12-oz.) jars with lids
- Cotton fabric with holiday design
- Rubber bands

Put 4 cups of epsom salts in a bowl and add 1 1/2 cups of sea salt, 1/8 tsp. glycerin, 3 or 4 drops of peppermint essential oil and the red or green food coloring. Stir to blend. Add more color if you want a darker shade of red or green.

Mix the remaining epsom salts and sea salts in a separate bowl, and add 1/8 tsp. of glycerin and 3 or 4 drops of peppermint essential oil. Blend thoroughly.

Put the epsom salts in the jars in layers to create festive stripes. For diagonal stripes, tip the jar as you fill it. When the jars are full, attach the lids securely.

Cut a piece of square fabric for each jar, slightly larger than the circumference of the lid. Attach the fabric to the lids with rubber bands.

If you have a large number of gifts to make, simply double the recipe and/or use smaller jars.
