How to Make a Salt Glow Facial Scrub

If your skin is feeling dull, dry and worn out, bring it back to vitality with a refreshing salt glow. The salt will exfoliate and revive tired skin, the lemon will provide antioxidants and the oils will sooth and moisturize.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2/3 cup sea salt
  • 2/3 cup jojoba oil
  • 2 tsp. fresh grated lemon zest
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Airtight container
  1. Step 1

    Place 2/3 cup of sea salt, 2/3 cup of 2 tsp. of jojoba oil and fresh lemon zest in a small mixing bowl, and stir well to make sure the oil thoroughly combines with the sea salt and lemon zest.

  2. Step 2

    Mix the salt scrub with your fingertips when you're ready to use it.

  3. Step 3

    Stand in the shower long enough to moisten your skin, and then turn the water off

  4. Step 4

    Massage the salt scrub into your skin, paying extra attention to dry areas like heels and elbows.

  5. Step 5

    Turn the shower back on and rinse the salt scrub.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make a mint and lavender salt glow. Just add a few sprigs of fresh or dried mint and lavender, finely chopped. If you don't have fresh mint and lavender, use a few drops of peppermint oil and lavender essential oil.
  • Make sure the mixing bowl and all of the utensils are dry when you make the salt glow. Any moisture can dissolve the sea salts and cause clumping.
  • You can substitute other oils for joboba oil. Try cold pressed olive oil or sweet almond oil.
