Fast food is one of the fastest growing industries in the U. S. with sales tripling in the past 15 years. In fact, about 40% of all Americans eat at fast food establishments at least three times a week. Fast food restaurants are busy and getting busier. If you like meeting people and having fun, fast food has a place for you--from beginning crew to upper level management.

      Choose the companies you are most interested in. There are many to choose from including, Burger King, McDonalds, KFC, Long John Silvers, Pizza Hut, Subway and more. Study them. Some have excellent training programs that will help you advance further and faster.

      Fill out their employment applications, either online or in person. For interviews, be sure to wear something professional. Plus be enthusiastic, talk in a strong voice and ask lots of questions about the company to show you really want the job. Be persistent and call back at least once a week to check on where your application is or whether you are still in line for a position.

      Start at the ground floor as a counter person. This is the best way to learn the business top to bottom if you are contemplating a full-time career in fast food. If you are a student or senior citizen simply looking for part-time work, fast food has many opportunities for you at this level too.

      Work extremely hard, stay motivated, be able to handle stress and enjoy working with people and you could be promoted to fast food upper management. With training and about 5 years of experience you can expect very good pay. And from there you could be promoted to higher volume restaurants for even more compensation and responsibility.
