How to Appraise a Porsche
Having a Porsche is a status symbol--a sign that you have one of the best cars on the market. Before buying or selling one of these cars, though, it's helpful to have an appraisal done. This tells you the fair market value of the car as well as what you can expect to pay.

Visit The Auto Appraiser website and schedule an appointment with Lance Coren. Coren has appeared in "The New York Times" and is one of the foremost appraisers in the world.
-
2
Check out Edmunds for appraisal values of most Porsche cars from current years, as well as older models. The website and books list the fair market price of the cars, the trade in value and the price a dealer would sell the car for.

3
Think about selling your car at auction or contact the auction house for help. Prior to selling a car at auction, the auction house will appraise the vehicle to determine it's worth. Even if you have no interest in selling your car, they may be able to help.
-
4
Call your insurance adjuster if the vehicle has been in an accident or if you can't find an appraiser in your area. Insurance companies typically know the value of cars and they can let you know your car's worth.
-
5
Ask at any Porsche dealership in your area if they offer appraisals, or if they can suggest someone who does. A dealership will often know how to get a car appraised and they may have someone on staff for this purpose.
