How to Handle Polaris ATV Recalls
When a vehicle comes under recall, you must follow certain steps to have your machine retrofitted by the manufacturer. You can handle Polaris ATV recalls by following a few simple guidelines to get your defective parts replaced.

1
Go to the Polaris website and choose your country. Enter the words "recall, [insert your ATV model here]" into the search box without punctuation.
-
2
Click on the recall that corresponds to your Polaris ATV. Read through the information and look for instructions under the term "Remedy." This is a simple action Polaris would like the owner to do in order to neutralize the problem. (Shut off the fuel line, for example.) Follow the instructions if you're able. If you don't know how, leave the machine alone.

3
Use the "Find a Dealer" box in the website header to locate the nearest Polaris dealer. Select "ATV," enter your zip code and click the "Go" button. If the search doesn't show a dealer near you, look under "Shopping Tools" at the top of the website. Choose "Dealer Locater" from the drop down menu. You must also use the Dealer Locater to find an international Polaris dealer.
-
4
Gather the recall information and call your local dealer to make an appointment for the ATV repair. Find out approximate repair time and verify whether there are any costs you must cover. Most recalls are free of charge, but taxes and shop charges may apply.
-
5
Take your ATV, registration or proof of ownership and any recall information you have (such as a postcard from Polaris) with you to the appointment.

Tips & Warnings
If you're unsure how to perform the Remedy instructions, ask the dealer to let you speak to a company mechanic who can provide step-by-step instructions over the phone.
