Laundry is a necessary chore that few people enjoy. One of the most time consuming aspects is folding the laundry once it's clean. With T-shirts making up a large chunk of many wardrobes, commercial shirt-folding gadgets have popped up everywhere. But, you don't need to spend any money for a fast and efficient T-shirt folding machine. With just cardboard and duct tape, you can have a quick and durable folding tool.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cardboard
  • Utility knife or other sharp cutting device
  • Duct tape
  • Ruler or yard stick
Step1
Cut the needed pieces of cardboard. You'll need two rectangles cut to 28 1/3 inches by 9 4/5 inches, one each cut 28 1/3 inches by 13 7/10 inches and 14 1/5 inches by 9 4/5 inches.
Step2
Assemble your pieces. The largest piece serves as the base. Place it with the long sides along the top and bottom. Center one of the 14 1/5-inch sides of the small rectangle on the base. Place the two long rectangles so that the bottoms line up with the bottom of the small rectangle.
Step3
Tape your pieces in place. Remove the small rectangle temporarily, without moving the two long rectangles. Tape the inside edges of the long rectangles onto the base. Flip them and tape the reverse side of the already taped edges. Replace the small rectangle and tape the top edge to the base. Flip it and tape the reverse side.
Step4
Begin your quick and easy folding. Place your newly constructed folding tool with the small rectangle on the bottom. Place the shirt with the neck even with the top of the tool and fold in the sleeves. Flip one side rectangle in and flip it back, flip the second rectangle in and flip it back, flip the bottom rectangle up and flip it back. The t-shirt is now folding neatly and quickly and you're ready for the next one.
