When it comes to wall art, most people think of wall paintings or prints of landscapes. However, wall art can be anything you do to your walls to create and finish a decorating style. You can even use wallpaper scraps to create wall art for your home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Submit your own image and personalize your wallpaper wall art. Have a photo of a special occasion enlarged and use it to wallpaper the top part of a wall in your bedroom. Next, install a chair rail and paint the bottom portion of the wall, as well as the rest of the room, in a coordinating color.

  2. Step 2

Make a mural with die-cut wallpaper. A die cuts away the background around the edges of the images so that the wall color shows around the image. Die-cut wallpaper is great for kid's rooms.

  3. Step 3

Select textured wallpaper to fit a room's theme. Bamboo is great to use in a sunroom with a tropical theme. The bamboo looks like individual sticks. If you find this pattern too overwhelming, wallpaper only one wall and coordinate the colors to the furniture and the existing colors in the room.

  4. Step 4

Create wall art by applying a wallpaper border. A wallpaper border works well in an open floor plan to tie in all the colors in the room. Additionally, a border can create an optical illusion to separate a designated area. For example, you can separate the living room from the dining room or the kitchen from the breakfast area in an open floor plan.
