Things You'll Need:
- Persistance
- A Diary
- Determination
- Hard Work
- Staying Fit
- Dressing Clean/Professional
- A Strong Will
-
Step 1
Persistence
This is no time to be lazy or think lazy. If you want to aim high, you will have to take the word lazy out of your personal dictionary. Of course, you will have to know what it is that you want to aim high for, be it career, or something personal in your life. -
Step 2
Keep a diary of your strategy!A Diary
Keep a diary of the goal you are seeking. Make daily steps on how you plan to reach your goals. Be very specific. Have a plan. Write your plan down. Dissect your plan in numbers, for instance, how long will it take to reach a certain goal, in order to get to your main goal. For instance, if you are thinking of being a Doctor, write your strategies. for Example:
1. Goal: To Be a Doctor
2. College: Eight to 10 years
3. What kind of Dr.: Surgeon
4. Best School for Drs: University of (________)
5. Grant or Scholarship: ____________________
4. Job(s) you have to help pay for tuition: _______________
5. How many course do you want to take a year? ____________________
6. Studying time per class: 2 hours a day
7. Fun Money or weekend fun money $100.00 a week
8. Mentors: Family Dr. Jones, Neighbor _________is a Doctor, Best Friend is a Doctor.
This type of goal setting becomes more real to you when you write it down. Make up a list for yourself. Try to break down as much as you can to put your reasoning on each number item in a particular section. Make your list up weekly, and makes notes in it to see how you are reaching your goals. -
Step 3
Determination
How much staying power do you have for your goal? Here's the thing....you will have to have several little goals in order to aim to the goal. For instance, you can't just say you are going to be a Doctor and not have a very established plan. You also have to have endurance, because when you want to aim high, you will fall into a few problems along the way. The problems can run from finances to lack of self esteem, to personal tragedies. No matter what happens, you have to stay focused and determine to go to the top. (whatever it is that you consider to be the top of your game). Only you know. -
Step 4
Hard Work
If you are going to school, it takes hard work to stay on top of the studying game. Some people are "born" A makers. Others are not. You have to do what it takes to keep you in the game, and that would mean to study consistently, and diligently, no matter what. This is just one example. Another example: if you are dancer and what to be the best in your rank or class, then it takes a lot of practicing. Not just one hour, but maybe 5, 6 or 7 hours a day, seven days a week, depending on how high you want to aim. -
Step 5
Staying Fit
Common sense....try to maintain your health. If you are unhealthy it is hard to be strong, (even in the mind), if you aren't feeling well. Get a yearly checkup on yourself, and eat plenty of fruits and veggies. Stay away from fried foods and drink a lot of water. -
Step 6
Dress the Part
Number one rule....always be clean and neat. Next rule, whatever you are going for, try to dress the part. If you are trying to be an executive in the corporate world, dress like the executives do. If you are trying to be a dancer in a theatre company... dress the part. Check out how the other top-notch dressers in the field you are seeking style themselves and shop accordingly. Dress like you have already arrived. -
Step 7
A Strong Will
Aiming high is very tough. No matter what it is that you are aiming for, the competition will be great. If you want to be an actor, there are thousands of others that are talented just like you, same age as you, and perhaps just as attractive. There are unique and beautiful people everywhere, hungry for the very thing you are looking for. Don't give up, even though you know this is the case. Be strong. Hold on to your dreams. If you don't, no one else will. Remember this, it may take you longer than others, but do the best you can, be persistent, be strong and determined, and never give up. Thanks so much for reading!
