How to organize your cd collection

Do you have piles and piles of cd's but don't listen to them often because you lose track of what you do and do not own? Or maybe you are in the mood to listen to a song or artist and now you can't find the cd?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• Small book case or organizer
• Either a computer or pen and paper (your preference).
• Patience

1. Ok first figure out how much space you are going to need based on how many cd's that you own. Once you can estimate or count how many you have you will be able to purchase a book case or cd organizer (some even go right over a door so they can hide in your closet and be out of sight). They are rather cost effective and will last for a long time.
2. Once you purchase whatever storage unit you need you can start to separate the cd's by either genre, alphabetically or even by singer or band. This will be based on your own preference. Once you are done separating them how you chose you can put them into your storage unit.
3. While putting the cd's in the organizer make a list either with pen and paper or on the computer. This will let you know what you have and where.
   
   Now you can go and enjoy your collection. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings

• Once you follow step 2 you may want to consider numbering them by putting little stickers and putting the number next to the file on your list. This will help you find your movie alot quicker in the future.
• Be sure that your storage unit, shelving or organizer has enough room to not only fit what you have but room for more otherwise when you do purchase or receive more as a gift you will have where to put them and not face this situation again.
