Scoop a Litter box
Scoop a Litter box

Cats like to keep themselves clean, and it's imperative to keep their litter box clean as well to ensure that they use it. Due to time and money constraints, you may not have time to change all the litter in the box, but by properly scooping the litter box, you can keep it neat and clean.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cat litter scoop
  • Clumping cat litter
  • Plastic grocery bag
  1. Step 1

Scoop up clumps of litter and poop with the kitty litter scoop. Since cats bury their feces, you need to make sure to dig all the way to the bottom of the litter box to get all of the clumps.

  2. Step 2

Shake the scoop gently over the litter box to sift out the unused litter, leaving only the clumps and poop in the scoop.

  3. Step 3

Drop the used litter into a plastic shopping bag. This allows for easy cleanup, since you can tie the top of the bag off.

  4. Step 4

Add enough fresh clumping cat litter to the box to replace the litter you scooped out.

Tips & Warnings
  • Scoop the box frequently. Cats will stop using their box if it begins to smell too strongly.
