Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells to reveal new skin underneath. While there are numerous products available for purchase that will exfoliation the skin on your scalp, you can make your own exfoliant with brown sugar or quinoa. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or quinoa
  • 3 tablespoons hair conditioner
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

    • 1

      Mix the brown sugar or quinoa and the hair conditioner to create a thick consistency.

      Wet your hair in the shower, then rub the paste on your fingertips. Apply to your scalp and massage gently in a circular motion, starting at the nape of your neck and moving upward. Linger on any spots that seem particularly tense or itchy.

      Rinse thoroughly as you continue to massage your scalp.

      Mix the vinegar with the water diluted with the water and pour the mixture over your hair. Do this several times to remove any residual exfoliant.
