There are many Freelance opportunities out there!

While there are plenty of freelance jobs available all over the internet, it doesn't mean you are guaranteed to land one that you actually want. Sure, you could work for next to nothing and sometimes you have to when you first start, but after a certain amount of time you should have moved up the financial ladder. If you find yourself still stuck at the bottom, offering your unique freelance talent for less than it's worth, it's time to learn how to continuously land those freelance jobs and get paid for what you do best.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Portfolio or samples of work
  • Internet
  • Resume
  • 'Can-do' attitude
  1. Step 1

Have your professional work together. When you apply for freelance work you are undoubtedly going to have to show your skills without actually taking a job first. This is where a portfolio or samples of your best work come in. Always keep your latest work up-to-date and be sure emphasize your best skills.

  2. Step 2

Create a website of your freelance talent. Showing a potential employer your site can benefit you landing the job immensely. However, not all employers like taking the time to look at a website just to find out the general information. So tell them what they want to know and then throw your website URL in there just in case they want to see more.

  3. Step 3

You can never look too much! Looking for freelance work can be time consuming but after awhile you learn where the best places to land the jobs are. However, you want to make sure you do your best on every job, especially if you have ratings from past employers that tell others how well you did the job for them. Keeping a great rating will ensure more work further down the road. Try to look daily or halfway through a project so that by the time you finish one freelance job, you already have another one panned out.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you aren't sure where to find freelance work do a google search or search for forums. Forums are a fantastic place to find out the best freelance sites. You can also put yourself out there and advertise your skills so employers can see what you have to offer.
