When using the program Word on a Mac operating system, sometimes the image you have selected for your document can float, move or have its edges cut off. That is because Word automatically places the image in line with your text, which can cause an odd look and may not be where you want it. Here is how to reposition your image.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Click on the document where you want to place the picture, then go to the Insert menu -> Picture -> From File. Find your image on your hard drive and double click it.
Step2
Go to the Format menu -> Picture -> Layout tab.
Step3
On the Layout tab, click the Advanced button, then the Text Wrapping tab.
Step4
On the Text Wrapping tab, click the style you wish (usually Top and Bottom is the most common, but it depends on your image).
Step5
In the Top, Bottom, Left and Right boxes, specify the distance you want the image to be from the text.
Step6
Click the Picture Position tab and adjust the horizontal and vertical placement of your image.
Step7
When satisfied, save your selections by clicking OK in each open tab.

Tips & Warnings

  • When selecting some elements in the advanced layout tab, some options may be dimmed, which means they are not available and will do nothing when you click on them.
