How to create an asian double eyelid

Asians usually have single eyelids, which make applying makeup a bit tricky.

Being born without the double eyelid feature has been most commonly associated with men and women of the Asian culture. Having a single lid means there is an absence of a crease on the upper lid. As a result, standard makeup tips cannot be applied as easily. While some Asians have sought eyelid surgery to make their eyes appear larger with a more defined crease, there is a less extreme way to achieve a double eyelid look.

Things You'll Need

• Cloth
• Eyelash glue
• Water
• Makeup remover

Instructions

1. Wash your whole face while paying special attention to the eye area. Clean, matte skin will help your makeup stick better. Use a dry towel or a cotton pad to pat the eyes in a gentle motion. Allow the area to completely dry before moving to the next step.

2. Use eyelash glue to apply a fine line above your lash line. Make sure this line of glue is only one-fourth an inch above the lash line. Wait one full minute for the glue to dry and watch for the its color to become transparent. The purpose of the glue is to help the crease you are creating to remain solid for a long time.

3. Use a double eyelid stick to place between your eyeball and eye socket. (Some come with glue or you can buy one separately.) Hold the stick in place for a full minute before moving it all along your eye. Do this to ensure the glue is set in the right place along your lid. Let go of the eyelid stick, and wait a full 10 minutes before moving your eyelids in any vigorous motions. Apply your eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara and other makeup.

4. Remove the double eyelid glue by using a gentle face cleanser to wash your face. Makeup remover will also help get rid of the excess quickly.
