Step 1
Have the receiver lie on the floor on his stomach. If he has any back sensitivities, you can place a small pillow underneath his hip bones to help stop the back from arching.
-
Step 2
Her arms should be relaxed at her sides, and she can turn her head to one side. A pillow can also be used under the head if that is more comfortable for her.
-
Step 3
Kneel by his feet so your knees are straddling his feet. Pick up his feet and ask the receiver to allow his knees to bend. Cross his ankles and place your palms against his ankles.
-
Step 4
Slowly start to lean in using your body weight and press her feet towards her buttocks. Just leaning in with a small amount of body weight is usually enough of a stretch for most people.
-
Step 5
If the receiver needs more of a stretch, you can place your stomach and chest against his legs and lean on them with your body.
-
Step 6
Hold for five to ten deep breaths and then release slowly. Cross the ankles the other way and repeat.
-
Step 7
Be careful that you use only your body weight to stretch the receiver and avoid pushing the feet down. Do not use muscular force to stretch the person, as this will cause her to actually tighten up and resist you.
