How to Make Easy Curtains
-
1
Take a piece of the fabric that you want to make your curtains out of and cut it to the length of your window. Make sure to leave about 1 inch extra on the bottom and 2 inches on each side and the top so you can scrunch it later on.
-
2
Fold the bottom of the fabric over 1/2 inch, and then over again another 1/2 inch. Hold the fabric and press flat with an iron. Add straight pins to keep the fabric in place.

3
Sew the fabric to the front of the curtain. A running stitch is a good stitch to use, but you can use whatever you prefer. Remember that the stitches will show on the front. Try to match your thread to the color of the fabric, unless you want the contrast of a different color.
-
4
Repeat this procedure at the top, only you will only fold the fabric over once, folding about 2 inches from the top. You may want to check to see if you curtain rod will fit after you have pinned the fabric. Adjust how much you fold the fabric over accordingly and sew.

5
After you are finished, slide the curtain rod in and hang in your window. You can hang another curtain rod in front of the first and take a piece of sheer fabric and hang it over the curtain rod. Measure the fabric to be twice as long as your window, and just double it over the curtain rod. It takes no sewing, but it'll compliment your curtains nicely!
