How to Make a Chanukah Menorah for a Child

Instructions

    • 1

Have the kids coat their hands in finger paint. You can use a variety of colors, or just a single color.

    • 2

Make two overlapping prints on the paper. Make two hand prints so that either the thumbs or pinkie fingers overlap. The overlapping fingers form the shamash and the eight other fingers form the other candles of the Chanukah menorah.

    • 3

Make nine fingerprints on a white sheet of paper using finger paint. You might want to use yellow, orange or red finger paint as these will be the flames for the candles.

    • 4

Cut out the flames and use glue to paste them above the candles to imitate flames. You can either cut them in the shape they are, or cut them down into a more flame-like shape.

    • 5

Decorate the menorah any way you want to. You can use glitter glue, colored paper, or anything else to decorate it.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can make the menorah by tracing your hands and coloring them in instead of using finger paint.

  • Make sure to give the paint time to dry. Otherwise, you will end up with a colorful mess.
