1
Go to the local grocery store and select a mop with long strands that will make a wig. It’s best to use a new, clean mop as opposed to a used, dirty one. Old mops tend to have bad smells and lots of dirt. Find the least expensive mop available and take it home.
-
2
Remove the mop head from the stick it is on. Most of the time you will be able to unscrew or simply pull the head apart. Make sure you remove any staples or sharp objects that could injure you.

3
Find an old baseball cap that you don’t mind altering. Take a needle and thread and sew the mop to the top of the hat. The mop is heavy and will want to rip off, so it will be best to make several long stitches so that the mop will not fall out of place. You should be able to tug at the mop without it feeling loose on the hat.

4
Cut off the bill of the hat with a pair of scissors. The bill will be very hard to cut through, so you will need a heavy duty set of shears. Trim the bill as close to the hat as possible so that there is nothing sticking out.
-
5
Trim the mop into whatever style you prefer for your wig. A good idea is to snip the bangs so you can see.
