How to Crochet Videos

Had I been left to study the pages of a "how to crochet" book when I first learned the craft, I probably wouldn’t be crocheting today. I found it much easier to observe my mom and mimic her hook. But don’t worry: If you don’t have anyone to guide you, many crafters are sharing their skills in how-to videos on the internet.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit your favorite yarn maker’s website. Lion Brand offers video podcasts that featuring entire projects. Moda Dea shares step-by-step videos for specific stitches, as explained by instructor Kathleen Sams.

    • 2

Go to Nexstitch.com to find videos on stitches of varying difficulty. The videos are narrated clearly, and the instructor performs each step at a slow enough pace to follow.

    • 3

Try the iamintheloop.com’s Art of Crochet video stitch guides. This site is particularly helpful to lefties who find it difficult to learn from right-handed crochet diagrams.

    • 4

Seek out videos on YouTube.com. Many crafters post videos here. Type "crochet" or the name of a specific stitch in the search box.
