How to Set Up a Slip 'n Slide
Slip ‘n Slides come in more than 20 different designs, and range in price from about $15 for a basic model to about $60 for a triple-track slider with a Nascar theme. The most important part about setting up a slide is making sure it is aligned in a down-slope direction. Here are tips for getting the most fun out of a Slip ‘n Slide.

Look for the most sloped area in your yard that’s big enough to fit the slide. Avoid areas that end near the street, sidewalk or driveway.

Find the down-slope direction as accurately as possible. Unroll the slide and spray water on it with a hose to see if the water runs all the way to the end of the slide. Adjust the alignment of the slide until the end is directly downhill from the top.

Blow up the inflatable parts of the slide, like the end cushion or the inflatable floor of a Bounce ‘n Splash slide.

Attach the hose to the water inlet, but don’t turn on the hose yet. Install the anchor pegs to keep the slide in place, making sure they are flush with the ground.

Turn the hose on enough to get a fine spray from the side rail. If you want to make the slide more slippery, use a mild soap like baby shampoo, or a product containing glycerin like bubble blowing liquid.
