How to Install Fog Lights on Your Car's Roof
Installing fog lights on the roof of your car is a great way to increase your nighttime visibility, and it helps make the car look better. There are several benefits to having fog lights atop of the car roof, including helping you see better, when there is fog present in any local the driving area. There are many styles and sizes to choose from. It is mostly about personal preference though.
Things You'll Need
- Car
- Fog lights
- Wire,
- Relay switch, Light bulbs, Fuses
- Mounting brackets
- Hardware to attach brackets and lights
- Wire strippers and Wire nuts
- A helpful friend to assist as needed
- Fine tip marker
- Drill
- Red and black electrical tape

Choose a location on the roof of your car. Mark the screw holes with a fine tip marker. Assure the lights are evenly spaced for the best appearance. Using a drill, Drill out the screw holes. Attach the mounting brackets.

Locate an area inside your car for the switch to go where it is easily accessible but not in the way. Using mounting screws screw the switch into the desired location.

Pop your hood and find the electrical circuit for your headlights. Using the wire you bought strip both ends and using the red electrical tape, cover the wire. Find the load side of the circuit and connect one end of the red wire to it. Run the other end of the wire to your switch and connect it to the load terminal.

Connect the power wire from the switch to the power terminal of each of the lights. Then connect the negative wires to the other side of the lights. Now connect the negative wire from the switch to the opposite side of the headlight circuit.

Cover all connections by using the black electrical tape to waterproof them. Make sure all wires are secure and will not move.
