Block unwanted messages

Are you getting emails in Outlook you just don't want to deal with? Whether they're spam or just forwards from your annoying Aunt Peg, here's how to stop them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

When you receive a message from a sender you want to block, here's what to do. Select the message header.

  2. Step 2

Find the Message menu at the top of Outlook Express. In that menu, select "Block Sender."

  3. Step 3

All messages from this sender will now be sent directly to your "Deleted Items folder;" you'll never even see them in your inbox.

  4. Step 4

To unblock a sender, simply repeat the steps but choose to unblock the sender.

Tips & Warnings
  • What if you've changed your mind about someone and you want to un-block them? Modifying your list of Blocked Senders is easy. In Outlook, select the "Tools" menu, then "Message Rules," then "Blocked Senders List." This will let you add, delete, or otherwise change up your list of blocked senders.
