How To Buy One Stock As A Gift

  1. Step 1

Search on the Internet for websites that sell single shares of stock as gifts. There are many companies that do this. One that has a great selection and is very reliable is "Oneshare."

  2. Step 2

Go to the "Oneshare" website. Select the company that you would like to order one share of stock from as a gift. If you select the "browse" selection at the top of the website, you will be able to browse stocks using several different criteria. You can browse based on the company name, the price of single shares of stock, or a specific industry type.

  3. Step 3

View the results of your search. There will be a list of companies with the price for one share of stock. Choose the stock that you like best as a gift for your friend or relative. You might want to use their interests or hobbies as a clue as to which company to buy the share of stock from.

  4. Step 4

Select from the list of frames that "Oneshare" has on their website in the drop-down menu. You will be able to view the prices of the frames in the drop-down menu.

  5. Step 5

Choose the matte you would like for the stock certificate to be placed on inside of the frame. Once again, the price is visible before you make your decision. It is listed above the drop-down list of matte styles.

  6. Step 6

Decide if you would like to have an engraving created below the mounted stock inside the frame. You will have a large variety of engravings you can choose from. The engraving price is listed right above the drop-down menu.

  7. Step 7

Click "Checkout" once you have made all of your selections. Enter your contact information, the recipient's information, and pay for the stock.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your stock can be as basic or fancy as you wish. You do not have to purchase a frame, matting or engraving. You can purchase just the stock certificate representing the one share of stock itself.
  • Research the stock that you would like to purchase as a gift in advance. This will give you a good idea of what you can expect to spend without the extras such as the frame, matting and engraving.
