Everyone loves sexy waves in their hair like most celebs are wearing these days. These tips will help you create the same look in no time. Create simple, beautiful waves using a curling iron and products you probably already have!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure your hair is dry. Lightly spritz a heat defense system all over your hair.

  2. Step 2

Separate your hair into sections. Do this by splitting it right down the middle. Then further separate it so that the top layers are pinned up and the bottom layers are still down.

  3. Step 3

Heat a medium sized curling iron. It should be on medium to high heat to make sure your curls set in place. With the curling iron perpendicular to the ground, wrap a piece of one of the bottom layers around the iron. Make sure there is some space between the hair each time it wraps around the iron. This will help create waves and not tight curls. Hold the hair in place with your hand--do not use the clamp that is on most curling irons, it tends to create a crease in your hair.

  4. Step 4

After holding the wave in place for about 30 seconds, release it from the iron. Do not touch the wave that you have just created. Let it sit exactly as it is. Repeat Step 3 for the rest of your hair. Finish the bottom layers and move up to the top.

  5. Step 5

Flip your hair upside down and work it a little bit with your hands--very gently rustling it up to create a natural look.

  6. Step 6

Flip your hair right-side-up. Make sure everything looks just as you'd like it to and lightly use a holding spray to keep it in place. Make sure you don't overdo it on the holding spray or your locks won't have any movement.

on 10/16/2009 Thirty seconds is a long time to keep your hair in a curling iron. Just touch your finger lightly to the hair- when it's hot, release it. (I'm a hairstylist)...other than that, good advice!
