How to Play an E13 Arpeggio on Guitar

The more arpeggios you have under your fingertips, the better you will be at improvising on the guitar. Adding the E13 arpeggio to your repertoire will provide you with some exciting new options when playing.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Guitar
  1. Step 1

    Begin the arpeggio by placing your pinky on the tenth fret of the sixth string (low E string).

  2. Step 2

    Place your ring finger on the ninth fret of the fifth string (A string).

  3. Step 3

    Using your forefinger, play the seventh fret of the fourth string (D string).

  4. Step 4

    Remaining on the fourth string, play the ninth fret with your ring finger.

  5. Step 5

    Play the tenth fret of the fourth string with your pinky.

  6. Step 6

    Shift to the third string (G string) and play the ninth fret with your ring finger.

  7. Step 7

    Shift to the second string (B string) and play the seventh fret with your forefinger.

  8. Step 8

    Shift to the first string (high E string) and play the seventh fret with your forefinger. This is the final note of the arpeggio.

  9. Step 9

    Complete the arpeggio by following Steps 8 through 1, in that (reverse) order.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once you have this arpeggio down, challenge yourself to play it in different positions on the guitar. This is a great exercise to increase your fretboard knowledge.
