Mirrored sunglasses are a great item to wear to block sunlight. These sunglasses help you to see as well as protect your eyes from harmful rays. From frequent use, mirrored sunglasses can get very dirty. They smudge much easier than a regular pair of sunglasses. Mirrored sunglasses must be cleaned in a different manner than regular sunglasses in order to protect them from damage.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 pair mirrored sunglasses
  • 1 container window cleaner
  • 1 box of tissues
  1. Step 1

Place 2 or 3 tissues flat on your hand. You need to use tissues to clean your mirrored sunglasses because they are gently enough not to rub off the mirror on the lenses of the glasses.

  2. Step 2

Apply 2 sprays of window cleaner to the tissues that are lying in your hands. You will want to use very little cleaner. The more cleaner that is applied to the glasses, the more likely it is to eat through the mirror film on the sunglasses.

  3. Step 3

Place the mirrored sunglasses on top of the pile of tissues in your hand. With your thumb and pointer finger lightly rub the lens to get them clean. Apply very gentle pressure to the lens so as not to rub off the mirror of the sunglasses.

  4. Step 4

Repeat the gentle rubbing action described in Step 3 on the other lens. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 using new tissues until all of the dirt and grime come off of your mirrored sunglasses.

Tips & Warnings
  • For cleaning mirrored sunglasses while on the go, you can use just tissues without the window cleaner. This will not remove a lot of dirt but will take off smudges and dust.
  • Only clean mirrored sunglasses once a week with this method. Repeatedly exposing the mirror film to any cleaner will cause it to wear away.
