• Paint and paint brushes

• A quality glue bonding agent for secure hold

Instructions

1. Decide on a material for the jewelry box. They can be made from wood, metal or cardboard. Metal jewelry boxes are normally purchased premade. Wood and cardboard jewelry boxes can be made at home or bought in craft stores. Metal is the most expensive material among the three, followed by wood and cardboard - the least expensive material choice.

2. Choose a shape for your jewelry box. Decide if you want a rectangle, square or heart-shaped box. The shape of the jewelry box is completely up to you. If you are purchasing a premade one, this is easier. Simply pick up the shape you want. If you are making your own from scratch, you will have to cut the pieces and arrange them yourself.

3. Pick a liner for the inside of the jewelry box. Most jewelry box liners are made of velvet or felt. However, you can also use satin or cotton fabric. A thin layer of glue should secure the material to the inside of the box.

4. Engrave the jewelry box to personalize it. Metal and wood can be engraved. Engrave your name, shapes or other designs onto your jewelry box. Wood shops can provide this service for you. For a metal jewelry box, most jewelry stores or metal engraving stores can engrave it for you.

5. Paint the jewelry box. If it is wooden or cardboard, you can paint it to give it a polished look. Wooden jewelry boxes can be stained or painted. You can use stencils to paint various designs onto the outside of the box.

• Be sure to seal all paint with a spray on sealer
