How to Fill Out a Wal-Mart Job Application

Wal-Mart is the world's largest retailer. Wal-Mart employs more than one and a half million people across the world. The retailer offers benefits to employees such as health care coverage and discount cards that may be used in any Wal-Mart store or club. They also offer perks such as an employee discount store and health club privileges in many areas. If you are interested in working for Wal-Mart, these tips will help you get your job application in the door.

    Filling out an Application for Wal-Mart

  1. Step 1

    Allow yourself at least thirty minutes to preferably one full hour to complete the application. The Wal-Mart application is somewhat in-depth. Before you begin the application process, you need to ensure you will have ample time to complete it.

  2. Step 2

    Visit Wal-Mart's career center website. Here you will be able to browse available job listings and find out more about the company and the employee benefits plan. You will also be directed to the hiring center website where you will be able to fill out your application.

  3. Step 3

    Read and agree to all the terms for the application. Before you can fill out the application, Wal-Mart has some specific terms and conditions that you are required to provide your consent to before continuing with the application process. Read the terms carefully.

  4. Step 4

    Register for a username and password. Another step you must complete before filling out the application is to create a username and password between seven and eleven characters long. The password will need to consist of capital letters, lowercase letters, and numbers. You will also need to answer some security questions which will help you to retrieve your password in the event you forget it or lose it. This will be used for you to track your application.

  5. Step 5

    Log on to the application using the username and password you just created.

  6. Step 6

    Verify your social security number.

  7. Step 7

    Create your personal identification number (PIN). It needs to be four digits, not in consecutive order and not from your social security number.

  8. Step 8

    Decide whether or not you wish to answer the questions about your sex and ethnic background. Answering these questions is optional.

  9. Step 9

    Identify your areas of interest. You will be asked which branch of Wal-Mart you are most interested in working for such as Wal-Mart stores including Neighborhood Market, Sam's Club, or Logistics.

  10. Step 10

    Locate a facility near you. Now you will need to enter your city and state or simply your zip code to determine a facility near you to apply with.

  11. Step 11

    Choose the type of position you are interested in holding such as professional, management or hourly.

  12. Step 12

    Select all the job groups you are interested in pertaining to the position you selected.

  13. Step 13

    Provide your personal information like name, address, phone number and email.

  14. Step 14

    Enter the times and days you are available to work.

  15. Step 15

    List two references. These people can not be relatives.

  16. Step 16

    Add employment history for the last ten years.

  17. Step 17

    Explain your educational qualifications as well as special skills.

  18. Step 18

    Fill out the questionnaire.

  19. Step 19

    Pass the retail pre-employment assessment.
