Things You'll Need:
- Empire-waist tops and blouses.
- Floor length dresses in fun, bold colors.
- Youthful pieces like cropped jackets, wraps or skinny jeans.
- Items for layering such as tights, leggings or hats.
- Delicate accessories (scarves, chain necklaces or ballet flats).
-
Step 1
Work with your bump (instead of against it) at the beginning of pregnancy. In the early stages, Jessica wore empire waist dresses and tops to flatter her evolving form. Try choosing outfits that fit loosely around your stomach region and display décolletage, arms or legs instead.
-
Step 2
Grow your wardrobe along with your bump. As Jessica’s pregnancy progressed, she began to show off her burgeoning bump with slim fitting tank tops or shirts, but always kept outfits dynamic by adding dark-wash jeans, classic blazers or colorful coats.
-
Step 3
Choose dresses whenever possible for optimal comfort and style. Jessica chose a wide variety of floor length gowns or empire-waist shifts throughout pregnancy. Keep dresses fashionable by choosing vibrant colors, bold geographic prints or interesting necklines (try strapless, spaghetti strap, halter and more).
-
Step 4
Add layers to simple dresses by pairing with soft cashmere sweaters, cropped jackets or wraps on the upper body. Jessica added additional trendy twists by wearing dark tights underneath sweater dresses, leggings beneath tunic tops, or topping outfits with fun hats.
-
Step 5
Keep accessories fun by belting dresses above your belly or adding colorful heels or boots. Late into her pregnancy, Jessica chose youthful flats instead of heels and favored simple jewelry like long necklaces or wrapped scarves.
