      Protect your skin. When working with fiberglass wear protective gear such as gloves, a dust respirator, loose clothing and long pants. If your eyes are exposed to large amounts of fiberglass dust, wear safety goggles with side shields to prevent eye irritation.

      Do not touch your eyes.! When working or dealing with fiberglass, do not rub your eyes if you feel dust getting in them. Instead, just flush them out with water for up to 15 minutes or until you feel they are clear of fiberglass dust.

      Be organized and effective when cleaning. When you clean an area you have been working with fiberglass in, be sure you do not spread the dust back into the area you just cleaned.

      Wash your clothing and take a shower. As soon as you are finished working with fiberglass, throw your clothing into the washer, separate from your other clothes, and then take a shower. Just wash yourself really well with soap and water and be sure to blow your nose in case you got dust in it.
