Open your favorite box of cereal or a box of instant potatoes. Before you put the box back in the cabinet, you'll want to fix the box so no bugs can get in it. Sealing the internal bag with a chip clip is probably the easiest way to stop bugs from getting in.

Pouring the contents of the box into a plastic sealable container is the next easiest way to prevent bug infestation. However, plastic containers can be expensive. There are other ways of resealing the package so nothing enters it.

Using a vacuum sealing system is the best way to prevent bugs from getting into foods and it preserves the food at the same time. Once a package is opened, remove the contents and put them in a vacuum sealing bag for a food storage system. Place the top of the bag into the vacuum machine and begin removing some of the air inside. Before the machine removes all of the air, press the seal button to begin sealing the bag. This will insure your contents are not crushed.

Label the package with its contents and store it in its usual place. This method will not only insure its freshness and ensure it's safe to eat but will also save room in your cabinets.

Plastic containers can get expensive and is not recommended unless you have plenty of containers at your disposal.
The vacuum food saver system is the most economical way to preserve food and protect it from bugs. It may cost at first, but in the end, it will save you plenty of money.
Do not attempt to reseal an internal bag that is not meant for the vacuum system with the vacuum system. This will melt the bag and leave the vacuum system inoperable.
