Locate the dirtiest portion of the cap. This is where you will start. Get the cap wet with your water supply. With the toothbrush, begin brushing the dirty area. This will loosen up some of the soil. Pour a small drop of dishwashing liquid on the soiled area. With the toothbrush, begin scrubbing the area. If more water is needed, add more to keep the soil from resettling on the material.

Rinse the cap with clean water but do not wring out excess. Place the cap in the top rack of your dishwasher. The water in your dishwasher gets extremely hot and hot water is great at getting out stains. Add your normal dishwasher detergent and begin the cycle.
