How to Apply for a Passport Online

If you have ever traveled by way of automobile you know, it can be pretty simple. Just load the vehicle, make sure the gas tank is full, a map is readily available and the cell phone is charged. However, if you want to travel to another country, you will first have to apply for a passport online. Here some steps to help you cross the waters and start seeing beyond the horizon.

Things You'll Need

• Digital Camera (at least 1 mega pixel)
• Computer
• Printer

Instructions

1. Go to "travel.state.gov" to apply for a passport online.

2. Click the "Apply for a Passport" option (to the right of the page).

3. Click "Applications and Forms" (to the left of the page).

4. Complete the online application by using "Form DS-11" via the "Passport Application Wizard". After completion of your application, you should be given a payment estimate and the opportunity to print a copy of the form for your records.

Tips & Warnings

• You can view the status of your online application 5-7 days after its submission. To view you will need the following:

• ~Your "Last Name"

• ~Your birthdate (MM/DD/YYYY), and

• ~The last for digits of your SSN

• You must apply in person if this is your first time applying for a passport.
