How to Play Pass the Trash Poker
Pass The Trash Poker is considered a variation of five card draw, but it is quite different than the classic Five Card Draw Poker. This is because there is actually no “drawing” involved in Pass The Trash Poker. Instead you will be receiving cards from the player sitting to your right. There are several rounds of passing cards, which can become very difficult in later rounds. You might have a hand you really like after two rounds, and be faced with a difficult decision as to which cards to pass away. Many players love this game, and others get very frustrated based on early promising hands disappearing in the third pass.

Gather your friends together for a night of Pass The Trash Poker at your home poker game. This is a great game to play with a large group of friends. Considering there is no actual “drawing” of cards after the initial five cards are dealt, you can have up to ten players in a game of Pass The Trash Poker.

Deal five cards face down to each player. After all the players have received their face down cards, each player may look at their own cards.

Conduct a betting round, with the player to the left of the dealer starting the wagering.

Instruct each player to choose one card from their hand and to pass it to the player to their left.

Conduct another betting round, with the player two seats to the left of the dealer starting the wagering.

Instruct each player to choose two cards from their hand and to pass both of these cards to the player to their left.

Conduct the third betting round with the player three seats to the left of the dealer staring the wagering.

Instruct each player to choose three cards in their hand to pass to the player to their left.

Conduct the final betting round, with the player four seats to the left of the dealer starting the wagering.

Reveal the hands and declare your hand. The player with the best poker hand wins the pot in Pass The Trash Poker.

Tips & Warnings
Many players feel that Pass The Trash Poker relies too much on the luck of the third pass. To make up for this, you can change the order of how many cards are passed. In the first round pass three, second round pass two, and third round pass one card. You can also play with seven cards to reduce the luck factor.
Don’t fall in love with your hand too early. Remember, you are going to have to give up one of your cards.
