Step 1
You can search using any search engine for e-book versions of the Harry Potter series. Some sites, such as diesel-ebooks.com or mininova.org, carry different books out of the seven that have been published. Keep in mind, the actual publishing company that publishes the Harry Potter series has not authorized the release of these books as e-books yet, so technically these are pirated and illegal.
-
Step 2
One you have found the book you want, you can download it from the web site onto your computer or simply read it online. If you have a very slow connection, or very little memory in your computer, you may not want to download it. Sites like this typically limit the number of pages you can print at one time and how often, to prevent mass production and illegal selling.
-
Step 3
Whether reading the e-book online on your computer, web enabled palm, or smart phone write down the page number and line that you stop on each time you read, as there is no way to put a bookmark in the book as you would a paperback or hardcover.
-
Step 4
Reading at your computer or on your palm is very convenient. Next time you're at work and want to take a break, or simply at home bored with surfing the web, you can pick up right where you started in your Harry Potter book without having to "turn" a page!

on 7/14/2009 There's only one legitimate place I've found to downoad the books, the rest seem like scams :-/ You can get them over here though: http://vostuu.com/file2018451.html
They make you do a little survey but after that it's good to go :)
